Authorware 4 Authorized

Authorware for Windows and Macintosh is the complete authoring environment for creating and publishing interactive information for CD-ROM and the Internet. Authorware uses icons on a flow line to define what happens for the end-user. This object-oriented interface lets authors build applications without scripting. Incorporate text, graphics, sound, animation, and digital video to create dynamic, interactive applications. Authoring environments on both Windows and Macintosh platforms make cross-platform de velopment easy. You can use Authorware to create dynamic learning applications, CD-ROM based magazines, interactive encyclopaedias, help systems and more.

Authorware 4 Authorized is a hands-on, stand-alone course designed to introduce new users to the main features and capabilities of Authorware. You will receive step-by-step instructions for each goal and will apply that information directly to your own, s imilar tasks. You will learn how to develop linear presentations, quizzes, interactive hypertext, navigation structures, and more. You will also receive a basic introduction to multimedia, review the roles of key members of the multimedia development team and touch on the software development cycle. After completing Authorware 4 Authorized, you will be able to:

Prerequisites: Familiarity with the Macintosh operating environment or Microsoft Windows. Also highly recommended is completion of the Tutorial provided in the Authorware 4 documentation.


Authorware Intermediate

Authorware Intermediate is a follow-on course to Authorware 4 Authorized designed to assist experienced users to explore features of Authorware that will enhance their abilities as authors. This course presents some of the deeper functionality of Authorwa re that can be tapped through use of functions, variables, Xtras, decision loops and conditional responses.

Creating simulations, performance support systems, on the job training, interactive information titles, computer managed instruction, routing systems, and other complex applications requires a more in-depth understanding of Authorware's functionality. The actual topics covered in Authorware Intermediate depend on the requirements and areas of interest of the participants. Some suggested topics are:
